Information for North Hanover Twp. Residents!

NHT Emergency Management Officials in conjunction with the Police Department have issued a voluntary evacuation for residents of all mobile home parks and low lying areas that may be prone to flooding. Residents are asked to relocate with family or friends until the weather threat is over. Heavy rains and high winds are expected from Hurricane Irene. Emergency services will be limited during the storm.

For those residents that have no other place to take shelter, the Upper Elementary School has been designated as an emergency overnight shelter. It will be open at 9PM tonight on August 27, 2011. Pack an overnight bag, pillows and a blanket. No pets or alcohol will be permitted. Space is limited so please only utilize the shelter if you have no other options available.

Oh, how awful.
I guess people in low-lying areas, with pets but no friends or family nearby, aren't going to be able to go to the elementary school. I know we couldn't flee without our Lindy.
I hope your home stays safe, Antonette, and you keep healthy, too.
