Oh Joy!

First I received this...

Flash Flood Watch FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR NORTHWESTERN BURLINGTON VALID FROM THU NOV 16 2006 04:15 AM EST UNTIL THU NOV 16 2006 04:00 PM EST.

Then a bit later I received this...

STRONG GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND NIGHT ESPECIALLY DURING THUNDERSTORMS... A STRONG COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE REGION TONIGHT WILL BE PRECEDED AND ACCOMPANIED BY SHOWERS AND POSSIBLY SOME THUNDERSTORMS. THERE WILL BE VERY STRONG WINDS ABOVE THE SURFACE AND SOME OF THESE WINDS MIGHT BE MIXED TO THE GROUND THIS AFTERNOON AND NIGHT. THERE IS UNCERTAINTY AS TO HOW WELL THESE WINDS CAN BE MIXED TO THE SURFACE BUT THE THREAT WILL BE INCREASED IF THUNDERSTORMS OCCUR IN YOUR AREA. EVEN WITHOUT THE STORMS, PEAK WIND GUSTS COULD REACH 40 MPH. A SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES IS STILL EXPECTED JUST SOUTH OF THE AREA. PLEASE LISTEN FOR POSSIBLE CHANGES TO THIS SLIGHT RISK AREA DURING THE DAY. ALL THE RECENT HEAVY RAIN WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR SHALLOW ROOTED TREES TO BE PUSHED OVER BY THE WINDS, EVEN THOUGH MOST TREES HAVE ALREADY LOST THEIR LEAVES. LESSER WIND SPEEDS TODAY WILL CAUSE MORE TREE WIND DAMAGE THAN NORMALLY WOULD BE THE CASE BECAUSE OF THE SATURATED SOILS. PLEASE USE THIS MORNING TO COMPLETE ANY NECESSARY PREPARATIONS FOR THE EXPECTED STRONGER WINDS. SECURE ANY LOOSE ITEMS AND ANY THANKSGIVING OR FOOTBALL OUTDOOR DECORATIONS. IF PRACTICAL TRY NOT TO PARK UNDER TREES LATER TODAY.

Then this came afterwards...

Tornado Watch WATCH COUNTY NOTIFICATION FOR WATCH 868 HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR BURLINGTON VALID FROM THU NOV 16 2006 10:45 AM EST UNTIL THU NOV 16 2006 06:00 PM EST.

Update: nothing happened. Just wind and rain. No thunderstorm or anything. Boring.
