Oh Joy.

Ernesto wasn't a big deal for us. A little wind a bunch of rain and that was about it. We received approx 4 inches of rain and 30-40 mph winds. Leaves, branches, a couple of trees and a few power lines were down, but it wasn't anything that the forecasters said it was going to be. However, the ground is saturated and now we got news of this:

Although Ernesto will be long gone by then, another storm system looks to be in the works for Tuesday and Wednesday along the Eastern Seaboard. A storm system will develop along the Carolina coast Monday night into Tuesday morning, then race northeast up the coast Tuesday night before passing near Cape Cod On Wednesday. This storm will have the potential to bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain with it from the Carolinas to southeastern New England. With Ernesto's recent heavy rain, the ground remains saturated in many areas, and additional rainfall will bring the risk of more flooding. This is especially true from New Jersey to eastern North Carolina, where some of the heaviest rain fell from Ernesto. Some rivers and streams may once again rise. The only good news is this storm looks to move quickly and this should help to limit rainfall totals.
