How Can People Be So Rude?

Why can't any of the law enforcement or military drive up to that overpass and tell those people who are baking in the sun which direction to go?

Did you see that lady that Fox news was asking to please go tell the people where to go? She seemed as though she could careless about those people. And did you notice nobody went up there to help all those people? YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! Just because those people are from the projects does not make them bad people...just unfortunate ones. I can't believe nobody can't stop and yell out the window to those people and tell them which way to walk. Louisiana law enforcement down there is just piss poor in my opinion. What a disgrace they are. I wanted to punch that woman right in the mouth...she just about rolled her eyes on camera when asked if they were going to tell those poor people where to walk to get water. UGHHHHHHHH!

Anyhow, it's 4pm and I'm finally able to get up and walk around the house. I had a migraine headache and I was very close to vomiting. It finally subsided, so i can actually get some laundry done. I'm gonna start that now...until next time take care.

Wait a minute!!!!!!

Why are the prisoners being taken care of rather immediately, but those who are on the bridge for days are being ignored?

Thoughts About Katrina & Its Aftermath

Worse then they thought
For once the media was actually correct about something. Hurricane Katrina was a catastrophic hurricane. To follow are my observations and opinions, you may not agree with all of what I have to say and that's ok, but don't be immature and leave nasty comments...that's just rude.
*The media has cried wolf so many times about hurricanes, that when a damaging hurricane does come, people don't evacuate.
*Those who stayed just because they thought it wouldn't be bad, are just stupid.
*The Super Dome isn't as sturdy as they thought.

*Why does there have to be morons that take advantage of others? I can understand grabbing a little food and water to get you thru the next few days, but people are taking TV's, whole sections of produce, and stuff that you can't even utilize because there is no electricity to cook it. People like that should be shot on site. Where is the military and the local police?

*How come there were people that took time to move the animals out of harm's way and then there were others that just abandoned them? For example the seals that are now scattered all over and are burning up in the heat. The owners of those captured animals should be shot. And I wish I could do it personally.

*It's absolutely amazing that President Bush got off his butt and cut short his record long vacation to sit in the white house and decide what the heck he's going to do about all of this. How about tapping into the reserve Mr. President!

*How come when there are natural disasters in other countries, the USA is one of the first ones there to help, were is the help for us with this incredible natural disaster? I don't hear about any country offering thierassistance.

*My thoughts and prayers are with the resuce workers, and the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

*DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE ANIMALS! I'm sure they wouldn't have stayed if they weren't trapped in cages. UPDATE: Who's the moron that shot the seal? Why couldn't they rescue the seals? That person or persons should be shot. I can't believe they'll rescue the idiots that wouldn't evacuate, but they won't help an innocent animal.

Wowza

Before I went to bed last night at 2AM, Katrina jumped from 115mph weak catagory 3 to a 145mph strong catagory 4 within a few hours. Woke up this morning it was a Catagory 5 with 160mph winds and just about a few minutes ago the winds increased to 175 mph with a pressure of 907 mb. Good Lord! She's getting close to being like Camille. My thoughts and prayers are going out to all those in harm's way of this unbelievable hurricane.

Hurricane Katrina & Another Zoo

Well wow! She's a fast one isn't she? She gained strength quickly in the Atlantic, now she's off into the Gulf and so far has reached Catagory 2 status.

My best friend, her little boy and I went to a local zoo yesterday. It's only 15 minutes away, but it's been years since I've been there. Ya know what? It was cleaner and better than the Philadelphia Zoo. Yes it was a lot smaller but it was a lot of fun! He had tons of monkeys, no large cats, but it was still a lot of fun and we couldn't ask for better weather. Next month we plan on going to the Popcorn Zoo. The popcorn zoo is actually more like a sanctuary. All there animals are there because they were either abandoned, abused, or rescued. Every building material, food and any upkeep of the animals is done by donations. I love that place, but it's so sad to read what people did to these poor animals. Below is an editor's comments about the Popcorn Park Zoo.

Usually a visit to the zoo must be taken with a bitter pill of regret for the animals' cramped quarters, lack of animation and severance from their natural environments. The opposite is true at Popcorn Park, a seven-acre rescue zoo housed in the scenic Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey. The animals here are wildlife's version of shelter pets: abandoned elephants, exploited tigers, rejected parrots and fallow deer found starving in sand pits. Perfect subjects for the TV show 'Animal Psychic,' these creatures all came to the zoo as survivors of bad jobs, hurtful keepers, fickle circuses, natural disasters and the many other circumstances that leave animals in need of new places to call home. And what a home the Park is, with its acreage adorned with indigenous Scrub Oak, Scrub Pine and free-ranging residents like the Chinese geese that greet visitors at the gate.

The Big Thrills This sprawling zoo houses more than 200 animals, each with its own heartrending backstory. Meet creatures as illustrious as Bunky the lion (rescued from a drug dealer), or as humble as Holly the Sicilian donkey (a refugee from a former 4-H Project). Other denizens include parrots, macaws, tigers, an Angus bull, American black bears, llamas, tortoises, iguanas, bobcats, cows and White-Faced Capuchins.

Must-Have Admission Info: At $3.50 a head ($2.50 for seniors and children), Popcorn Park's affordability is on a par with its integrity. It's also accessible, maintaining an all-seasons schedule of 11AM to 5PM. Soda, popcorn and snacks are available on the premises, as are a picnic area and public restrooms.

Tips and Hints: After feeling the love from the zoo's many rescued residents, you may be in the mood to "adopt" your own animal. Visitors can become sponsors by joining the Popcorn Park Wildlife Club, claiming responsibility for their own creature for a mere $2 per month. In return, you'll receive word (and a picture) of your foster pet every four months. -- Julia Clinger

Random Thoughts

I think the female readers will understand my first random thought more than men. I went to 7-11 today to pick up a pack of cigarettes. I am slowly weening myself off of them. I am now smoking carlton brand of cigarettes. I heard they are the lowest in nicotine. Anyhow...pulling into the parking lot I was cut off by a mini-van and then this woman proceeded to just park in the parking spot I was just about to pull in . So, I parked my truck in another spot and got out. The not-so-polite mini van driver gets out the vehicle and wouldn't you know it? It was my former housemate/roommate who was also once my husbands love interest! Ok, I'm no perfect 10, not even close and I will always struggle with my weight, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her. She...ummm.... let's say...expanded. She appeared to be very happy and I am glad for her, but it was quite a shocker. She didn't recognize me, probably because of my haircolor. Well needless to say, I felt good about myself after that.

Can someone tell me if there has been a law put in place that drivers do not have to use their turn signals anymore? All day today I had people just stop right in the middle of the road and then make a turn right out of the blue. No turn signal...no smoke signs no hand signal...nothing. I don't know which is worse, people on AOL or the people driving on the roads. Oh and by the way? All the flippin people that didn't use signals today were....drum roll please....MEN ON THEIR CELL PHONES!!! Hello people! It's against the law to talk on your cell phone in New Jersey unless it's hands free.

Ok, here's another...Why at a traffic light do men feel it's their right to punch the gas when it turns green because they do not want to get passed by a woman driver? Then after they do the whole punch the gas so I can beat a woman driver...they go below the speed limit, thus creating a back up of traffic. Or if I try to pass, the man decides to speed up. Now I understand why there is so much road rage these days.

Well, I think I've vented enough for today. I'm gonna take Ginger for a walk. Until next time...take care!

No Lions Or Tigers - Oh My!

Went to the Philadelphia Zoo yesterday with my sister in law. We had a good time, although it was a bit toasty outside. I was disappointed that the "Big" Cats were not there. They are building a huge area for Lions, Tiger, Cougars, and Jaguars called Big Cat Falls. Although, they had Leopards and Cheetahs there, not seeing my favorite felines (Tigers), was a let down. They will be back at the Zoo in 2006.

The Philadelphia Zoo is expensive, disorganized and not the cleanest of zoos. A Nathan's hot dog with small fries and a iced tea cost $6.75. That's outragious! The animals were well taken care of which matters the most to me, however, in the eating areas, there was duck and goose crap all over the place. But all in all despite some of the disappointments, I had a good day.

I refuse to talk about Sunday's race. All I have to say is that Dale Jr. has some sort of bad luck riding along with him. He would have finished well in the top 10, but even the "gas and go" left him to finish 18th! Ugh!!! It's not fair I tell ya! Well, that's about it for today, until next time....take care.

No Clue

Well here I sit pondering what the heck I should type that is semi-interesting and quite possibly enlightning ::long pause::. After all, it's been days since my last journal entry, and I figured my journal was getting lonely. Perhaps during my absence, my journal has made friends with other journals? Well, considering my journal hits are lack luster, I presume the answer is no.

I have been trying very hard, to keep away from the puter, but somehow I'm drawn to it like a moth to a light. I had to get my pogo badge challenges done and if you are a Club Pogo member you know exactly what I am talking about.

I was also making an effort to spend some more quality time with my hubby . But after sitting on the couch with him having the remote, I gave up and went to my computer dungeon. And here I sit, it's 12AM, everyone is asleep except for me of course.

Well, my web site is calling me because it too is lonely and now jealous of my journal. So, I guess that's where I'm going next and there after I will try to get into my bed. I say try because we have a king size bed, the cat has my pillow and some of my side of the bed and the remaining part is usually taken up by my husband sprawled out. Why do I bother even going to bed? I should sleep in the other bedroom, but the other cat has that bed and she does not leave you alone. I could always put a day bed in my computer room, it's actually a third bedroom. Nah...nothing beats the comfort of your own bed. I'll squeeze in somewhere amongst the animals.

Well, so much for a well thought out, awe-inspiring journal entry

Sigh Of Relief

Well we got those storms I was speaking about and it was in the mid eighties yesterday and today it's only 73 with rain on it's way. It's a little late for some of my plants =( but hey we'll take it.

Went grocery shopping yesterday and stopped by Pet Smart. I picked up 2 fish to add to my fish tank. My current fish are convict fish and they have nasty attitudes. The males are really aggressive and I've about had it with them. I'm going to collect them and give them to the local petstore. They are attacking my new fish . Poor guys. Parrot fish and Severums are supposedly just as aggressive and can handle convict fish, but my fish seem to be really nasty.

Hopefully Joey will be getting home early so we can go out to eat. He is so busy during the summer that I hardly get to see him. He gets up at 5:30, comes home for a 1/2 hour lunch and then I don't see him again until 8:30ish. He has his dinner watches a little TV and then he goes to bed. Both of us can't hardly wait until February. That is when we go on vacation. We'll be going to the Daytona 500 and also Disney World. My parents moved to Ormond Beach from New Jersey last May, so we have a place to stay. They live about 15 minutes away from the track. We stayed there last year when we went to the Daytona 500 for the very first time.

Well, Joey should be home soon for lunch. I have a lot of things I need to do today, so I'm gonna get my butt moving. Until next time...take care!!!

I keep on checking on Joey. He's outside in this. I'm waiting for him to come home for lunch.

Talked to my mom via Instant Message earlier. She told me dad is starting to go to the bar with the guys after work on a regular basis. She's not happy with that. She's trying not to nag him about it, but she doesn't like it when he drinks...he gets very grouchy. Well, I don't know what to tell her. Maybe it's a phase and he'll get over it. There is nothing wrong with hanging out with buddies, but we all know what drinking does to dad. It's not pretty. We'll see how things turn out.

I didn't get to see the meteor shower last night. It was too hazy and cloudy. I was so looking forward to seeing the meteor shower, but oh well.

Well, I'm gonna get going, Joey is home for lunch. Hope you have a good day and until next time...take care.

________________________________________________________________

I'm sure to some of you who live in the desert south west are probably saying "stop whining". I know, I know, but I don't care it's hot in NJ and I don't like it one bit. I hate summer. Another reason why I'm so cranky is because of the following fact: this year thus far we've been 90 degrees or above 24 days. Last year, we only had 9 days. See? I'm not acclimated. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I was going to go grocery shopping, however, I think I'll wait until this weekend...maybe. Personally, I think it's going to be the air conditioning, the tv or the puter and my furry kids and that will sum up the weekend.

Everyone is watching what Tropical Storm Irene is going to do. I'm not concerned. She'll probably veer off east eventually. The image below updates. I'll leave it on my blog until it's no longer a threat to the eastcoast of the United States.

I forgot about this weekends event the meteor shower. The most familiar annual meteor shower — which happens during many people's vacation seasons — should reach its 2005 peak on Thursday and Friday nights, August 11–12 and 12–13. The first-quarter Moon will set in mid- to late evening, leaving the sky nicely dark for the prime meteor-watching hours from about midnight until the first glimmer of dawn.

During those hours the shower's radiant point, located between Perseus and Cassiopeia, will be getting high in the northeast — so meteors should flash across all parts of the sky at a rate of about one a minute as seen by a single observer.

Get out and enjoy the show!! Until next time...take care.

My Short Lived Happiness

Well so much for me having a good day! I just turned OFF the TV because Jr got turned from behind and not only did he crash, but he hit his teammate as well. Good Lord, when will this poor kid stop having such bad luck? Read the story:

Now for some good news:

Congrats to Martin Truex Jr. on his win last night! You Rock!!!

Oooh I have my guess about who is going to drive the Napa 15 car next season. It's been right under our noses I think, then again I could be totally wrong and my hunch was about as accurate as a blind man trying to thread a needle. I think, that Martin Truex Jr. will not be driving the Bass Pro Shops 1 car in Nextel. I believe he will be the one driving the Napa 15 car with an associate sponsor of Bass Pro Shops. I would love to know what the rest of you think (those who are race fans like myself).

Well I'm off to the store to pick up some items for dinner. Until next time...take care and know this: Life is too short..stop looking back on the past and face the future with a open mind and open heart.

You got some x'plaining to do

Good Afternoon!

Well, besides a killer sinus headache, all is well here. I'm waiting for my hubby to come home for lunch. And speaking of Joey, I think I need to explain a few things (even though I don't think I have to) that I put in a recent journal entry. It seems, my journal entries are being judged as well as my marriage.

Joey and I have been together for 14 years. We love each other and sometimes hate each other but all in all we are soulmates it seems. When Joey is in his miserable moods, he's vulgar, mean and just cruel. When he's not in that mood, he's the most loving, caring and fun person. I'm sure most of the mood issues are because of his job, but that is no excuse. Now, I can't sit here and blame him for everything. I'm no saint either, but it's my journal and I decided it was husband bashing day and that's all there is to it.

Well, since I'm in a explaining kind of mood, I guess I'll just keep on going. It seems that prior to my "metamorphosis", I was creating my own hell so to speak. I was really fighting with my husband (to the point of getting a divorce), I was fighting with family, I was fighting with people on AOL (how stupid is that). I made some mistakes not only in my personal life but it seems with my "online" life as well. I discovered that your soulmate is your true love and it's a real love. And even though you think the grass is greener on the other side, it is not! I also discovered that the people I trusted, I shouldn't have trusted, thus creating a huge drama. Then, I started making changes. First with my personal life. I am on a diet. A real diet, that involves eating healthy and watching my calorie intake, taking a multi-vitamin and walking. Also working on my relationship with Joey, and making a real effort at being a better wife and friend. I'm trying to make some sort of sense out of why he can be so mean sometimes. I have a lot to learn even though we've been together for so long. Secondly, with my online life, like I said I cut ties with a lot of people, including some that I cared for. I think the whole online drama thing was starting to affect my personal life. I know there are a few people that are blaming me for everything and can't seem to stop blaming me even though I have left and moved on. I know I keep on speaking about my recent past and how I'm supposedly moving on, I am moving on, but it seems my past doesn't want to let me. Things keep on re-surfacing that remind me of my past. Oh well, so be it. I can't change the past. I'll just learn from it and hopefully this sort of thing will never occur again.

Now, I hope this is all the explaining I need to do for a long time. I realize this is a journal about me and it includes all aspects of my life, but there is no need to bring the public into my prior mess ups. It's not necessary. But it seems, I had to do this to get the weight off of me and to correct some people who think my marriage is going right down the toilet. It is not going down the toilet. The toilet hasn't been flushed yet! LOL

Enjoy the rest of your day! I know I will.

Stuff

I was looking around the web and reading some blogs. I found some really awesome ones too! Look at my "Other Journals" and read some of them. I also found out that my journal name is not unique after all. A matter of fact, I found 3 others that had their title "My So Called Life" as thiers! *GASP* Now what do I do? Do I leave my journal title as is and hope that someone will find mine particularly interesting? Or do I change it to something else that hopefully nobody else has? Decisions...decisions...decisions! Ahhh the heck with it, I'm leaving my journal title the way it is. All the other ones will have to get over it and learn to deal with the disappointment of sharing journal titles with countless others.

I went to a small car show today with my very pregnant sister in law. It was nice. We saw all the cars in less than one hour, she got some flavored ice thing and then we called it a day. It was nice to see her. The last time I saw her was on July 4th. She's getting big! She is due around the last week of October or beginning of November. It's her first child so it's anybody's guess.

There were a lot of severe storms around us last night until around 3AM. They all totally missed us, but you could see the lightning. From what I found out, the storms caused up rooted trees, large hail and of course lightning. I love a good storm, but I'll pass on the hail. New Jersey does get good storms, however they do not come close to Florida or the mid-west. My parents moved to Florida last year, so they quickly found out why Florida is the lightning capital of the world. My dad loves thunderstorms, however my mother will basically hide under a pillow.

Tomorrow is tidy up the house day and race day. I'm sure there will be more watching of the tv than cleaning.

Until next time...take care.

A little cheese with my whine

Joey and I are fighting, He is so miserable sometimes. I even slept on the couch last night because I'm so pissed off at him. Sometimes I wonder why we are even married. Somedays I love him and somedays I really hate him and I mean really hate him (like hope you drop dead kind of hate). I don't know I guess it's a normal thing? A lot of people say it is a normal thing. I sure hope so.

Nothing much else going on, it's too blasted hot to do anything. But then again, there's always laundry to do . Oh, supposedly since I deleted my other screen name and basically disappeared off of aol I found out I am missed by some. Who knew?!!! I wasn't spoken to when I was around, now all of a sudden I'm no longer around and I'm missed? Whatever. I do have a few exceptions, there are a handful of people that I trust and I keep in touch with them. Ya know the genuine, honest, kind, real-deal type of people? Yeah, I don't need any more stab wounds in my back if you catch my drift. I tell you what though...I am much happier since I did what I did. And that's all I gotta say about that (in my best Forrest Gump accent).

Well Joey is on his way home for lunch, gotta look like I'm doing something . I believe I've met my whine/temper tantrum/crybaby quota for the week!

Oh and hey...it's The Brickyard this weekend! I am so excited! I am hoping Jr does well and it would be awesome to see Tony do well there. That place owes him! And as for JG...well let's say I hope all he sees is 40 something other cars infront of him. (No nasty-grams please, after all, it's MY journal dang it!)

Toodles for now!

Whatever

Grrrrrrrrrrr! I just typed a long journal entry and somehow deleted it. WHATEVER!!!! Ugh, well I guess I'm doing another entry .

Well nothing much has been really happening which is a good thing. I'm done getting poked, proded, x-rayed, ekg'd and echoed.

The front porch is done except for some minor touch ups that I only seem to see.

It was hotter than blazes outside last week, then we got a brief break. Today is the start of hot and humid days again. I hate summer. Some of my plants have bit the dust. I've been doing everything possible to make them "happy", but I guess the weather just took a toll on a few of them. They are annuals, so maybe they'll return next year.

Joey and I have a wedding to go to next month. There is a problem though. The wedding and reception is on a riverboat and we get really sea sick. I am hoping the combination of Ginger Root and those wrist bands will provide us with some extended relief. If anyone has any suggestions, please leave a note in the comments section.

Well, my original entry was much longer, but it wasn't about anything interesting. So, I'm ending it here for now. Until next time...Take Care!
