Well good news! Joey's CT scan came out fine. And his most recent blood and urine tests came out fine also. As for the enlarged kidneys the Dr said he could have had them since he was born. As for the lower back pain, she said that could just be muscle sorness.
Well, now for me. I have had Edema for a long time. I've been on water pills for over a year now. The water pills don't get the job done. I am still swollen in my left ankle and foot. So, I went to the Dr's Thursday. I had a long conversation with her with regards to a lot of stuff. I have to get a Ecocardiocram and a chest X-ray to rule out fluid around the heart and any pulmonary issues.
They also took blood and urine from me. I've been dieting and I mean serious dieting since 4/19. I have lost some weight but it should be a little more significant. I know she's gonna say my thyroid is fine. It's been fine for the last few blood tests. I don't know but hopefully my tests will reveal something that will let us know why I can't lose weight. It's driving me nuts! It's like saying you're getting a makeover and when you look in the mirror...you look exactly the same as you did before your makeover. It's like, "Why bother?"
So here I sit, writing down what I ate today and counting the calories. My calorie intake was approx. 1182. My Doctor told me to start writing down what I eat. She told me I shouldn't have less than 1200-1300 calories. I'm lucky to eat 1000 calories in a day sometimes. Oh I could go on and on about this, but I'm so tired I'm ready to fall asleep as I am typing. Nite Nite.

Chest X-Ray
Well, today I went to the hospital to get my chest x-ray. This particular hospital is so nice and the people that work there are so friendly and very caring. It made the whole ordeal very comfortable.
Now all there is to do is wait. The technician who took my x-rays said if the radiologist found something that he/she didn't like that i would be contacted within a day or so, otherwise they'll just send a report to my Doctors. So here I sit, nervous and worried. I was up until 3AM reading about Edema online, and I wish I didn't because now that I know a lot about it, I'm petrified.
I am awaiting my blood and urine results to see if there is any issues with that. It's all just a waiting game now. Let's see how "bonkers" I become. Anyone want to start wagering???
Well, I'm starting to "crash". Hopefully my next entry will be about good news.

Test Results
Okie dokie, a few things....
1. My chest x-ray came back clear. Nothing is wrong with my lungs...no pulmonary edema.
2. Blood and urine tests came back fine. No thyroid issues. Also my hormones are fine (rules out being perimenopausal).
Next is my echocardiogram. I have to schedule that.
Way to Go Martin Truex Jr. on his win and thank the dear Lord for Jr's finish of 3rd in the Pepsi 400. About time I say! Poor guy hasn't been feeling well either. Could this be the start of something positive with the 8 team? We shall see. Although, I still firmly believe he should pack up and move to RCR. Teresa screwed up everything. But, who am I to say how you should run a multi-million dollar team? I'm just a fan.
As I am typing this, some freakin morons are setting off fireworks and it's 2:30 in the morning. Stupid kids need a swift kick in the ass. They better not come by this house and set any off, cause they won't see their next birthday.
Well I better get to bed. I hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th! Remember it's not just about eating, swimming and watching fireworks folks!

Rants n Stuff
I see JR didn't qualify at Chicagoland very well. And poor Tony Stewart was seeing purple elephants dance around his head. Tony will be starting from the back of the field because JJ had to qualify for Tony.
Passing on that track is rough...we'll see what Dale Jr. can do. It isn't his best track, but he needs to do well regardless.
It was a little breezy at the Atlanta Motor Speedway it seems. In case you don't know, the Atlanta Motor Speedway had a F2 Tornado drop by for a visit. The tornado was spawned off of the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy. Track officials are saying that the track will be ready by the October 30th race. Click here to view the damage.
I see the hurricane/Tropical Storm season is getting underway rather quickly. All the headlines read "Killer Hurricane on it's way to the states".
Ok people, this storm is a big deal, but what's with the headlines? The weather people can't get the forecast right for a normal 24 hour period, what makes you think they'll be able to predict the path of this little bundle of wind? I guess if I had property in the vicinity of the path of this hurricane, I would be a little concerned regardless what the wind speed is, and of course you got the flooding, but why scare people even more with such alarming headlines? They make people go into a panic every time there is a hurricane. Oh, the graphic above? I don't know how I actually got it to work in my blog, but it's constantly updating itself. So, in a hour or so, you can come back and see where it moved to.
Anyhoo... we had about 2 inches of rain up here in NJ from the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy. Today is absolutely beautiful. Everything is bright, green and flowering. It's going to be HOT this week.
Well I think that's about all I have to talk about for now...
Take Care.

Assorted Rants and Raves
Yes, I shed tears when I saw Dale Jr. win. I was so happy for him. He was so full of emotion at Victory Lane, I wish I was there to give him a hug. No, he didn't have the best car, he even said so, but the pit crew won it for him hands down.
I am also thrilled to know that the 8 and 15 teams are working together. My hubby said to me that he heard that Teresa put her foot down and told them to start getting their "poop in a group", and make this 8 team better. That may be hearsay, but who cares, something obviously lit a fire under their butts.
The other reason for my tears...
I decided in 93 degree heat to stain our front porch/deck. I kept hydrated and would periodically come inside to check out what was going on with Hurricane Dennis and the race. It took me about 7 hours to stain the railings alone!!! I am not even close to being done! Tomorrow is going to be 96 degrees, I think I'll pass on doing the rest of it tomorrow. Besides, my back hurts so badly I can hardly walk. I don't know if I'll even be able to get out of bed tomorrow, let alone stain a deck. It'll have to wait...
I was planning on going to the beach tomorrow, but it's going to be a land breeze and that means flies! Those flies down at the beach are relentless. So I will wait until Tuesday when it won't be a land breeze.
Oh Lordy it's almost 3AM!!!!!!!!! I got to get to bed!

Beach Day For Me
I decided to go to the beach today by myself. I was so glad I did too! It was absolutely beautiful at Island Beach State Park (New Jersey). Low 80's, lots of sun, beach was clean, and the ocean was warm and clear.
The traffic was horrific getting down there. And it wasn't beach traffic, just normal every day traffic. A matter of fact the part of the beach that I go to wasn't too crowded at all (the above pic isn't from today). It took me over an hour to get there, but only 45 minutes to get home. I was only there for 3 hours and I got a little cooked! I am so tired.
I finally picked up my referral to get my echocardiogram done. I'll call the Cardiology Office tomorrow and set it up.
Ok, I'm so tired from today that I can't even type anymore. I'm done for today.
Take Care.

Updates
Well, there is a lot of "stuff" going on this weekend. Michael Waltrip is leaving DEI at the end of this season. Obviously the contract talks didn't accomplish anything. Chalk up another bad mistake by the Executives at DEI.
Dale Jr. finished in the top 10 today. During the post race interview, the poor guy looked like he was dragged behind the car instead of driving it. He was exhausted and obviously in a bit of pain. I hope he will be ok, because Pocono is next, and that isn't one of his favorite tracks.
Tony Stewart had another dominate run today! Man, that car was something!!! And Tony is becoming quite the monkey climbing up fences. You got to admit it's unique!
Way to Go Martin Truex Jr.!! At least DEI did something right with getting Martin Truex Jr. a contract to drive a cup car in 2006. Well, he sure is a sure bet in the Busch series but let's see what happens when he's in a cup car fulltime in 2006,
Emily isn't a nice girl. She has become a strong 4 and now she's down to a Catagory 3. Once again, I believe she'll go over land tonight and go down to Catagory 2 if not a 1. All I know I'm glad I'm not in Cancun right now.
On a personal note, my echocardiogram is this Wednesday. I'll let you know how it goes and hopefully I'll get the results quickly. Until then...

Monday Update
Ok, well I got my Echocardiogram/EKG/ultrasound done. The technician said she couldn't tell me my test results, but if I was allowed to leave after my test it was a good thing. I was allowed to leave immediately after my tests and she kind of gave me a hint that all was good. I have a follow up appointment with my Doctor on Monday.
It's been hotter than heck here in New Jersey. I'm trying to finish staining my front porch/deck but it's been so flippin hot that I can't fathom doing it.
I see London is getting its fair share of bombings once again. Poor people, but you know what? They seemed to have their act together. They getting all the suspected bombers. Now, I just read that there was a bombing in Egypt. Oh Lordy what is this world coming too? Personally, we need to get out of Iraq NOW! We haven't done a darn thing there but get our soldiers killed. I have such a hard time understanding why we are still there. Oh I could go on and on, but I won't.
Well, Pocono is this weekend. That is not my favorite track. I am hoping that Jr will make it through the race unscathed and has a pretty decent finish. A top 10 would be good...a top 5 would be awesome!
Well, I'm fading fast...gonna hit the hay.

Sunday Update
Well the race stunk. That's all I have to say about that.
Tomorrow is my follow up visit with my doctor. I am hoping all goes well. I am going to ask her about a few things regarding my weight. I am losing weight, however, I firmly believe that the big changes I've made with my eating habits should have produced better results. I have been on a 1200-1300 calories a day plan, cut down on my sodium, no caffine intake, hardly any breads or pasta, and I have been keeping a food journal to make sure I am following my set rules. I've been doing some research online and some people are on a B12 shot and some other drug which I can't recall at this time. It's a appetite supressant. I don't need that, because I'm not that hungry most of the time. I just started taking cortidrene, hopefully that will help. I was taking Leptopril and relacore together. Leptopril gave me chest pains, so I got off of that. After researching, it seems that people had better results with Cortidrene than with Relacore, so that's the reason for my change.
The staining of my porch will have to wait a while longer it seems. It's going to be extremely hot this week and I think I would probably drop dead if I did decide to do it.
We are going to have our entire inside of our house painted. It's hospital white right now. I don't know how to paint, nor can my back handle it. My husband is extremely busy and there is no way he could do it. So, when we are on vacation in February, we are having a friend (who is very talented), paint the inside of our house. Now all I have to do is pick the paint. I couldn't believe how many paint colors there are! Holy Cow this isn't going to be easy.
Well, I'm going to finish updating my website and finish the laundry. Until next time....take care

Wiping The Slate Clean
Well hello!
For those of you who stop by once in a while and read my semi-interesting journal entries, got a little surprise! Yep I deleted my old journal. It's a long story that I wish not to discuss in great detail. Basically in a nutshell, I have decided to cut ties with a lot of people, no longer use my previous s/n, and start over. I'm wiping the slate clean and moving on.
Of course deleting my old journal met that all my entries were going to be deleted too. So, what I did was copy and paste some of my recent entries into this new journal so you all won't be left in the dark. Although, I wish I saved the journal so I could have a link to my archives. But oh well...
Now for the good news:
All of my tests came out great! And? I think I cured myself. I started taking a multi vitamin by One A Day called Weight Smart. My swelling has gone down tremendously. My doctor believes it was a lack of magnesium that could have caused the Edema.
Well, I think this is going to be it for today. Thanks for stopping by. Take Care.
